Happy day · XVI Accounting

Yes, you found the tax people. Taxes handled by humans.

We prepare taxes, plan taxes and argue with the IRS on your behalf. Tax consultants up front, CPAs on staff for the hard stuff, fees agreed in writing before we start. Not one photo of people forced to smile.

Self-employed? Find out what you owe before the IRS tells you.

Enter your expected net profit for 2026. You'll get a rough federal estimate. Florida has no state income tax, so this is the whole bill for most of our clients.

Why people call us

Other humans, other tax problems.

Three of the calls we get most. If one of these sounds like you, you're in the right place.

Who we are

Tax consultants first. CPAs behind every return.

XVI Accounting is a small tax firm on purpose. You get a tax consultant who actually knows you, instead of a different preparer every spring. Our consultants handle returns, planning and IRS issues, and our CPAs review the work.

Most of our clients came because someone told them about us. We like it that way. We'd rather spend our time on your return than on large, useless graphics. And no, we still won't tell you what 16 has to do with it.

“If you ever learn about a tax bill from the IRS instead of from us, we haven't done our job.”

How we start

Be human. Pick up the phone.

Step 1

Call us

Or book a free 20-minute call. Tell us what you need and what's keeping you up at night.

Step 2

We review your last return

A tax consultant looks for missed deductions and anything the IRS might question.

Step 3

Your fee in writing

A flat fee or an hourly rate, whichever fits your work, agreed before we begin.

Step 4

We take it from here

Portal access, a calendar of your deadlines and a consultant who knows your file.

Giving back

Free bookkeeping for local nonprofits.

Each year we keep the books and file the Form 990 for a few Palm Beach County nonprofits at no cost. Every dollar they don't spend on accounting goes to the people they serve.

Good questions, straight answers

Frequently asked questions.

How much will my return cost?

Individual returns and tax planning are billed hourly, starting at $400 an hour. After a quick look at last year's return, you get an estimate in writing before any work begins.

Do you charge a flat fee or by the hour?

Mostly by the hour, starting at $400, with time tracked and itemized on every invoice. Some business work can be a flat fee instead. We'll recommend what fits, and you agree to it before we start.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Last year's tax return is the most useful thing. If you're a business owner, bring access to your bookkeeping software or your bank statements. That's enough to get started.

Can you help if I'm behind on taxes or got an IRS letter?

Yes. We file back returns, respond to IRS and Florida Department of Revenue notices, and set up payment plans. The sooner you send the letter, the more options you have.

Where did your old website go?

We wiped it. The only thing more stale than the photos were the inside jokes. This one has a calculator.

Do I need to come into the office?

No. Many clients never visit. Documents go through a secure portal, and meetings happen by phone or video. You're always welcome to stop by for coffee, though.

Should my LLC be taxed as an S-corp?

Often yes, once your profit passes a certain point, but it depends on your income, payroll costs and plans. We run the numbers on your actual figures during the consult.

I just moved to Florida. What changes?

Florida has no state income tax, but your old state may still want a final part-year return. We help you file it and document your Florida residency properly.

Do you do bookkeeping too?

Yes, for our tax clients. Monthly bookkeeping and payroll keep your numbers ready at filing time, but tax work is the heart of the practice.

Is my information secure?

Documents are exchanged through an encrypted client portal, never by plain email. We follow IRS data security requirements for tax professionals.

What does 16 have to do with it?

Call us and ask. Some things are better on the phone.

How do I get started?

Someone told you about us, so ask them for our number. Or just use the one below. Pick up the phone and call.

It starts with a conversation

Someone told you about us. Good. Now call.

We prefer the phone. If you must type, use the form and a tax consultant will reply the same business day.
